La Macina di San Cresci

“Artists are interesting creatures. We can be obsessive, dedicated, spirited and single minded in our pursuit for that perfect realisation of our art. We tend to be outsiders and are often that square peg in the round hole, so when you find an oasis like San Cresci you hold on tight -- for it’s that sense of belonging which welcomes you.”

“As a contemporary figure artist influenced by traditional methods in painting and drawing, my work is an exploration of multiple perspectives of the self. My goal is to visually represent the beauty and mystery of the human experience by interweaving themes such as self narrative and feminist theory while drawing from my undergraduate studies in psychology. By using intimate and dream-like imagery through oil paint and charcoal, my work invites the viewer into the private spaces of the inner psyche and confronts the universal with the personal. “
