I am an academic and writer whose literary studies directly inspire poetic projects. I specialise in Victorian Literature and Art with particular research interests in feminism and gender studies, literary movements and communities inspired by Romanticism, individualism and selfhood, American literature and transatlanticism, and ideologies of love and immortality. I have completed extended work on Louisa May Alcott, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Christina Rossetti and Dante Gabriel Rossetti, including a study on the influence of Dante on the work of the Rossetti family. My methodological approach is largely contextual, and I am especially interested in how the historical, cultural and literary contexts, which writers write from influences their work.
