Kinga Foldi is a textile artist , she works in several fields of textile art: installation, costume design, jewelry design, but mainly textile sculpting

 “I create objects inspired by nature, but their messages are more complex than being mere natural forms. They are talking about the human part in us humans: our feelings, desires, hardships. It surprises me too from time to time, how honest these works are, it seems almost unconcious how my thoughts and feelings transform into fabric and shape. The spectator doesn’t have to be aware of these thoughts, my aim is to create meditative objects , that are able to stop people in their busy everyday life. They might not discover the meaning deep within, but the forms and surfaces help them to slow down and emerge in a fairy tale world. This world has vital importance for me, it is a shelter where you can hide in the realm of miracles and the place where nothing is impossible. My sculptures originate from the living world, still they are not naturalistic creations, but imaginary creatures and gestures. I work in two different dimensions, my miniature objects serve as jewelry, but I’m more and more interested in large scale, and multilayered objects that open the way towards textile installations.”
