Anja Studer was born and raised in Switzerland and became an environmental activist at a very young age, feeling a deep need to protect the world we live in. She studied fine arts at the École de design et haute école d’art du Valais (édhéa formerly known as ECAV). Anja moved to Canada and continued her fine arts studies at the University of Manitoba and graduated from Red River College with a diploma in photography. Her permanent home is in Canada, but she is currently residing in Switzerland. She continues to create, exhibit, and sell her art in both Europe and Canada. Her work includes painting, illustration, embroidery, installation, and sculpture. Anja’s work is inspired by nature and wildlife, and she uses her work as a call to humanity to protect the planet and its wildlife. Her past solo exhibitions have focused on the negative impact humans have on the environment and wildlife, as well as the hope and stressrelief nature offers to us, humans.
